Operations Scheduler - Kemper


Job Summary

The Scheduler ensures that operations shifts are filled when vacancies occur due to vacation, disability leave, outages, training, emergency situations, special assignments, meetings, etc… by defining unassigned times on the shift schedule. Employees are to be called, in the order of overtime eligibility; and work schedule of all operations employees identified. The Scheduler will also ensure that vacation requests, disability leave notification or other miscellaneous absences follow the Local IBEW contract.

Job Requirements

Experience working with covered and non - covered employees in a generating plant. Thorough knowledge of the Local IBEW contract, federal regulations governing overtime, and Company policies related to overtime/vacation/disability leave/call out.

  • Demonstrated computer skills (Excel) required

  • Thorough knowledge of timekeeping procedures required

  • Effective interpersonal skills to work with others required

  • Good oral and written communication skills required

  • Understanding of operations work processes at a generating plant strongly preferred

  • Proven customer relations strongly preferred

  • Planning, organizing, problem solving, and decision making skills. required

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work without close supervision strongly preferred

  • Ability to resolve conflicts while working well within a team strongly preferred

  • Understanding of scheduling rotating shifts strongly preferred

  • Ability to maintain confidential information, i.e., discipline, FMLA or any other sensitive information pertinent to employees required

  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet departmental needs required

  • Qualify on the EEI SASS test - required
