Description

The Contract Analyst will be responsible for supporting Southern Power Company Legal department on various contractual and legal matters, including but not limited to, database and file administration & organization, managing non-disclosure agreement tracking & compliance, providing asset acquisition implementation support (e.g., preparing contract notifications and other documentation), legal research, and various other activities as necessary to assist in providing in-house legal services to internal business units of Southern Power. Will work closely with primary client bases of Southern Power’s contract compliance and asset management and trading groups.

Major Job Responsibilities Include

  • Manage overall project documentation

  • Administrator of Sharepoint repository; provide monitoring and sampling of repository

  • Develop and maintain consistent structure for document submittal; create templates/procedures for submittal; nomenclature of documents

  • Ensure all final executed documents are in place; current state – responsible for cleanup/backlog of documents

  • Manage non-disclosure agreement tracking and compliance

  • Prepare post-asset acquisition contract notifications and other documentation

  • Primary point of contact for documents

Candidates with the following preferred experience are encouraged to apply:

Education

  • JD or Minimum of a Paralegal Certification from an ABA accredited program

Experience

  • Experience as a Paralegal or attorney in a corporate legal department or law firm

  • Legal research skills, particularly computer-based research, and business writing

  • Strong computer skills
