Talent Management Manager - Southern Company
The Talent Management Manager designs, develops and implements enterprise wide talent management strategies, processes and programs as well as serves as an internal consultant to the HR Talent Management teams across Southern Company's portfolio of operating companies.
Support the design, development and implementation of enterprise talent management strategies and initiatives to include (but not limited to) leadership and employee development, succession planning, performance management, high potential development, leader onboarding, coaching, assessments, competency models and talent reviews processes and others as needed to address talent challenges and gaps aligned to business needs.
Responsible for all program components, including project charters, deliverables, leading project team members, deadlines, budgets, resolving issues, communication protocols, marketing, etc.
Provide consultative support to operating company HR talent management teams to support operating company specific talent management needs assessments and solutions
Deliver supporting data, analytics and reports on talent management initiatives and outcomes to drive and influence program design and delivery and process enhancements
Research, recommend and offer best practices (both internally and externally) for both enterprise and business unit/ operating company needs in support of talent management deliverables
Partner closely with internal partners to ensure alignment with other talent strategies across the system
Manage external executive development program participation, sponsorships, memberships, etc.
Support internal executive leadership development programs (bootcamps, forums, etc)
Oversee and lead implementation of TM integrated technologies for Succession Planning, Performance Management and others as needed.
Oversee core operational aspects for Talent Management department in partnership with TM Analyst: core contracts with external vendors, budget, communications, website presence, analytics, tuition reimbursement, etc.
Lead, Coach and Mentor TM Analyst role
Support Talent Management Director on other initiatives as needed
7 years of progressive and successful experience in HR and/or talent management.
Strong aptitude for business acumen and how to link Talent Management initiatives to business outcomes.
Ability to quickly establish relationships within an organization. Excellent collaboration and influencing abilities with HR partners, business leaders and employees.
Ability to work and communicate effectively across cultures and across levels (written and verbal).Experience working in a matrixes organization preferred.
Strong critical thinking skills, problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to use analytics to identify trends and implications relevant to talent management.
Ability to develop and execute innovative and creative solutions that are relevant to driving business talent priorities
Strong, timely project management, consulting and facilitation experience as well as strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations using data, graphics, and effective storytelling and influencing skills to communicate insights and implications for decision making.
Ability to multi-task, work quickly, works independently as well as across teams to manage competing priorities.
Work with a strong propensity to deliver business compelling results
