Southern Company Marketing Communications Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia
Leads execution of Marketing programs, including but not limited to: managing copy development and design that is on strategy with marketing’s goals, obtaining cost estimates, coordinating timelines and project plans, coordinating mail drop and call volume schedules with call center to attain program success and highest level of customer service.
Develops direct response for acquisition, retention and loyalty efforts creative materials through in-market date.
Coordinates copy development and implementation of customer on-hold, bill insert, statement messaging.
Acts as the Marketing liaison to the Company’s call center to ensure accurate and timely rollout and support of marketing programs.
Develops call center scripting and sales tools to support Marketing programs and participates in call center training sessions and focus groups.
Works closely with Advertising Agency of Record and print vendor(s) on marketing materials.
Leads Incentive Programs (i.e. Visa Gift Card) and incentive vendor relationship (Pre-Paid Technology).

Utilize strong communication and project management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks effectively.

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, work well under stress and tight deadlines, have a very high level of attention to detail and high degree of work ethic
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or similar field, or equivalent work experience
Related Work Experience:
- Normally 5 years of experience in the field is required
5-7 years of experience preferably or equivalent
Applicant may possess a combination of equivalent education and work experience.
Specific Skills & Knowledge:
Knowledge of standard marketing communication practices, trends and techniques.
Understanding of a retail customer service center environment.
Solid verbal, copy writing and proofreading skills.
Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks effectively.
Solid print production knowledge.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees, customers and vendors.
Ability to provide monthly reporting of marketing programs, call center scripting, and in market reports.
Strong computer skills – Microsoft Excel and MicroSoft Project experience.
Ability to manage and complete multiple high priority projects and activities with strict time-sensitive deadlines.
Moderate supervision required. Must be able to work independently, yet able to operate effectively as a team player. Must be self-motivated.
